National Voters Awareness Programme

The National Voters Awareness Programme in the Mancherial district of Telangana is a robust, year-round initiative driven primarily by the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) framework of the Election Commission of India. Aimed at strengthening democratic foundations at the grassroots level, the program focuses on maximizing voter turnout, eliminating urban and youth apathy, and ensuring completely inclusive electoral rolls. Under the direct supervision of the District Election Officer and District Collector, extensive awareness campaigns are regularly deployed across Mancherial’s assembly constituencies, utilizing a mix of rural folk art forms, massive student rallies, street plays, and dynamic electronic voting machine (EVM/VVPAT) hands-on demonstration centers. A key focus is placed on Electoral Literacy Clubs (ELCs) in local colleges and high schools to target first-time young voters, encouraging online enrollment via digital portals while simultaneously running special drives to enroll marginalized communities, particularly tribal populations and Persons with Disabilities (PwDs).
